About Guitar Fundamentals

When I first started Guitar Fun-damentals in 2006, I was trying to figure out how to get kids who are interested in guitar into a program that was fun, educational, economical and most importantly located close to their respective homes.

With the decline of local music shops that were offering lessons, combined with the popularity of music related games,  I saw a big im-balance that needed attention. Trying to build dozens of shops to fill the need was out of the question. So I decided to take my 30 plus years of touring, endorsing, playing, writing and most importantly teaching experience ( we are talking 10's of thousands of hours), and partner with an entity that was already in the business of helping the community with educational programs; Your local School District and Park District!

By working through your local Schools and Park Districts, I was able to offer high quality, cost competitive guitar instruction all over Illinois, and most importantly, in everyone's backyard.

I started out as any small business with myself and one Park district. It has grown to over 55 Park Districts, 9 School Districts including Chicago Public Schools and counting. That's  a lot of music and a lot of smiles. Expansion to other States such as Arizona and Wisconsin will further our goal of connecting as many kids with Music as possible.

In order to grow I have brought on quality people in my  partner Dave Rohde and over 40 gifted instructors and Team members who believe as I, that a music education is a fun and important part of kids lives.

Our High Quality instructors and programs have brought the fun of music to over 2000 children here in Illinois and will continue to grow.
